Extend Your Roof Life
When done properly, regularly washing your roof can extend its life. The most common mold you see growing on a roof is a black mold known as Gloeocapsa Magma. Gloeocapsa Magma causes black streaks and in severe cases, tinting the whole roof to a blacker color. This type of mold feeds off of the calcium that is used as a filler in shingles. When left untreated, this mold will break down shingles, reducing their strength and lifespan.
If the roof is treated by an experienced professional, washing your roof will not cause any damage. We use a SOFT washing process that applies soap with no more force than a light rain, gently removing mold rather than using high pressure that will harm the shingles.
